The second livestream of Netflix’s Geeked Week was mostly focused on animated series and movies. They had a lot of interesting announcements. But the most surprising was the reveal of the new Witcher movie “The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep”.
The movie is based on a short story with the protagonist being Geralt of Rivia. The big surprise for the fans of the games, is that Doug Cockle, the voice actor for Geralt from the games is going to be in the movie too.
Netflix also released an article, with some additional information about the movie:
“Prepare to take a trip deeper into the Continent. The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is an animated film based on one of the original Witcher stories. Geralt of Rivia is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village. There, he finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into an all-out war.”
Also the movie takes place between episode 5 and 6 in The Witcher Season 1.
Additionally, they released not one but two trailers, with the second being a first look of what to expect from the movie. The release is set for late 2024, meaning that we have to wait for a while before we can watch the movie on Netflix.
